Olivia Payne, pianist

“Without enthusiasm nothing great can be effected in art.” - Robert Schumann

Olivia specialised in piano performance at the Royal College of Music in London and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she was awarded a number of scholarships and prizes. She has performed as both soloist and chamber musician around Australia and the UK and now works as a freelance pianist and teacher in and around Oxford.

Accompaniment Service

With chamber music as her passion, Olivia is in high demand as an accompanist for recitals, music festivals, choirs and exams, recently playing for Royal College of Music recitals and recordings as well as audition accompanist for BBC Young Musician of the Year. She has collaborated with the OUP Choir, been pianist for the Oxford Symphony Orchestra and, since 2008, a member of the Amphion Ensemble.

Piano Lessons

Olivia's calm and friendly manner helps to bring out the best of her pupils. Her priority is to instil a love of music and for her pupils to play musically from the first beginner lesson up to the finesse of an advanced pupil recital. Every pupil is unique and so is taught with a bespoke programme to inspire, challenge and enjoy.

Olivia currently teaches individual piano lessons at Magdalen College School, St Hugh's School and The Oratory School. She is DBS checked and undergoes regular safeguarding training as part of her work in schools.

Before a child speaks, it sings.

Before they write, they paint.

As soon as they stand, they dance.

Art is the basis of human expression.
